Comments Off on Liberia Education Trust (LET) Grants USD 5,000 to SMART Liberia
We are excited to announce a grant partnership between SMART Liberia and Liberia Education Trust (LET). The purpose of the grant is to hire a full time Project Supervisor to oversee Smart’s program growth, purchase two laptops for the office and a digital camera.
Mr. Marvin R. Tarawally, the founder and Executive Director of SMART Liberia signed a contract with the president of Liberia Education Trust (LET), Dr. Deborah Harding on March 10, 2016 which led to the disbursement of the funds to SMART Liberia.
Liberia Education Trust was established to support the restoration of education in Liberia after decades of collapsed due to the civil crises. LET’s mission is to build and rehab 50 schools; train 500 teachers; award 5,000 scholarships principally to girls to enroll in school and to stay in school; to support women to enter teacher training colleges; and, to enroll market women in literacy programs. LET is a grant making initiative.
Thanks to LET’s renewed commitment, we will bring on a new staff and continue to build our internal systems to support and sustain our growth.
We are grateful for your continuous believe in our vision.
